General or local anesthesia?

While otoplasty is typically performed under general anesthesia in young children, it can also be performed using local anesthesia if the patient's age (or anxiety level) is appropriate. This shortens the procedure time and enhances patient comfort by eliminating the post-anesthesia recovery period.
